Murugavel Janakiraman,
Chairman & Managing DirectorHe graduated in Statistics from Presidency College, Chennai and completed his MCA from the University of Madras.
For a brief while he worked as a consultant in the US where he launched a community site for Tamil NRIs. This eventually led to the launch of TamilMatrimony and other BharatMatrimony channels. He discovered his wife Deepa through his own matchmaking site.
The Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce honoured him as one of the Top 5 Asian Indian Businessmen in the US below the age of 35. He was also honoured by the India Today Group as the "Business Icon of the Year."
Twice he was nominated by The Economic Times for the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award. Besides being awarded Digital Entrepreneur of the Year by WAT, he was also Chairman Emeritus of the IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India).
C K Ranganathan
Non-executive Independent DirectorC. K. Ranganathan, is a Non-executive Independent Director, of the Company. He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. He is the founder of Cavinkare Private Limited, a company engaged in the business of personal care, food, beverages, dairy and snacks. He was conferred the prestigious, Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Economic Times in 2004. He was the Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Tamil Nadu State Council for the year 2009-10 and former president of the Madras Management Association. He is associated with Matrimony.com since 2014.
George Zacharias
Non-executive Independent DirectorGeorge Zacharias, is a Non-executive Independent Director of our Company. He holds a bachelor's degree of technology in chemical engineering and holds a post graduate diploma in business management from the Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur. He was earlier associated with the Company as Nominee Director of Yahoo! Netherlands B.V. He was a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sevenstrata IT Services Pvt Ltd. He was also associated with Mindtree Ltd as Sr. Vice President. He is associated with the Company since 2006.
Milind S Sarwate
Non-executive Independent DirectorMilind Sarwate, is a Non-executive Independent Director of our Company. He holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Bombay, and a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and Company Secretary. Mr. Milind brings over 32 years of experience in finance, HR, strategic planning, business development and product supply, across various sectors. He is currently the Founder and CEO of Increate Value Advisors LLP, which is engaged in facilitating organisations and individuals to discover, develop and deliver business and social value. He has held various positions at Marico Ltd, including CFO and CHRO and was a member of Marico's Group Executive Committee. He was awarded the ICAI Award in the CFO - FMCG category in 2011 and the Best Performing CFO Award - FMCG & Retail in 2012 by CNBC TV-18. In 2013, Milind was inducted into the CFO India Hall of Fame by the CFO India Magazine He is associated with the Company since 2014. He is currently the Chairman of Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Company.
Akila Krishnakumar
Non-executive Independent DirectorAkila Krishnakumar is an alumnus of the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS), Pilani. She has over 30 years of experience in software product development for financial services and education markets worldwide. Until 2013, Akila was President - Global Technology and Country Head for SunGard in India - then a Fortune 500 company and global leader in financial services software. Since 2013, as the founding partner and board member of Social Venture Partners (India), a network of engaged citizens, she works to provide livelihood opportunities for disadvantaged women and youth. She has held several key industry positions and was formerly the Chairperson for the American Chamber of Commerce Chapter and Chair of Nasscom’s Regional Council. She is a regular speaker at several International and National Conferences and leading organizations. She has won several awards and accolades including being among the top 5 women leaders in the Indian technology industry for many years". She has joined the Matrimony.com Board as Independent Director on August 10, 2018.
S.M Sundaram
Non-executive Independent DirectorS. M. Sundaram is a Chartered Accountant, a Cost Accountant, a Company Secretary, a Chartered Financial Analyst and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, with several all-India ranks. He has about 33 years of professional experience, most of them in senior roles in Finance and Investment Management. He is currently a Partner & CFO at Creaegis, an asset management platform for private equity investments for global endowments and institutional investors. Till April 2018, he was Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Baring Private Equity Partners India, which manages assets of over $1 billion across multiple fund entities. He was the CFO of CSS Corp, a San Jose-based IT Services company operating in multiple countries till 2007. Till 2000, he was also part of the senior management team at the Sanmar Group, a large business group headquartered in Chennai.
Deepa Murugavel
Non-executive DirectorDeepa is a non-Executive Director of the company. She holds a bachelor's degree of science in biochemistry (special) from Gujarat University and a master's degree in business administration from California Coast University. She has also completed a course on training as a laboratory technician from the K.M. School of Post Graduate Medicine and Research, Ahmedabad. She has been associated with Matrimony.com since 2006.
